The Program

Sturgeon County works hard to build the diversity of our trees and shrubs through incorporating native and hardy plant species.

There are many benefits to this landscaping strategy: aesthetically, economically, and environmentally.

Occasionally, the County will need to carry out pruning or tree removal for damaged or diseased trees. Those activities will be listed here.

Hazardous Trees & Tree Health Concerns

Sturgeon County's parks and open spaces are home to many trees and shrubs. These plants provide many benefits, we want them to be healthy and thrive. If you see a tree that needs care, we want to hear from you.

Submit a service request if:

  • If you are concerned about a tree posing a threat to public safety or a tree’s health on County land.
  • You would like assistance in assessing and identifying tree health concerns.

Current Tree Maintenance Projects

Pruning or tree removal/maintenance projects will be listed below.

Two Balsam Poplar trees are scheduled for removal due to disease and internal decay identified during inspection.
