The Program
Every year, more than 100 collisions occur on County roads, and approximately 25 of them result in a fatality or an injury. These numbers represent families, friends, and community members whose lives have been changed in an instant.
To help make county roads safer for everyone, Sturgeon County is developing a Safe Mobility Strategy. This plan will set road safety goals and outline actions to help reduce severe collisions. The strategy will guide the County in creating a transportation network where people who walk, bike or drive can travel safely.
To learn where road safety improvements are needed most, the County is looking at collision data, expert advice, and feedback from residents. Your voice matters. Help shape Sturgeon County’s road safety priorities by taking the online survey and join an upcoming Transportation Information Session.

Project Background
Sturgeon County appreciates the community response to the request for Mobility Safety Measures. So far, feedback from the community has helped the County deliver key safety improvements in neighbourhoods across the County. In 2024, Sturgeon County approved its first Traffic Calming Policy, creating a solid foundation to respond to road safety concerns from residents and Council. Building on that progress, the County is now developing a Safe Mobility Strategy that will evolve into a broader Mobility Safety Program, keeping community input at the forefront as we continue working to improve safety for everyone, whether walking, biking, or driving.
