The Project

Drainage improvements will be made along Township Road 554.

Project Scope

The County will be completing drainage improvements along Township Road 554, starting at Discovery Avenue and extending 650 metres west. This work will include roadside ditching and culvert replacements.

Survey crews may be onsite before construction begins. Once surveying is complete, the contractor will bring in equipment shortly before work starts. Construction is expected to begin in late August/early September and to be complete by mid-November (weather-dependent).

What This Means to You

Residents can expect brief delays and single-lane traffic on Township Road 554. There will be a road closure and detour plan for Discovery Avenue for a culvert replacement, which is expected to last 4-5 days.

Digital message boards with detour information will be placed in advance.

Project Updates

Discovery Avenue is now open to traffic. There is still work to be done on the project, but it should not affect traffic.

The contractor has committed to start construction on September 23, 2025.

The contractor's start date for this project has been moved to September 17, 2025.

The contractor will begin moving equipment to the site on September 8 or 9, with construction expected to start on September 10, weather permitting. The project is expected to wrap up on September 19, weather permitting.
